Konami unveiled new extended gameplay footage of the Silent Hill 2 remake

The video showcases the protagonist, James Sunderland, wandering the streets of Silent Hill before venturing into and exploring Brookhaven Hospital.

It also displays combat with various monsters, including the iconic nurses from the game.

The video concludes with James encountering 12-year-old Laura, who runs away as a monster approaches.

The footage confirms earlier reports that James has been given a new appearance, making him look younger than in the original remake trailer.

During Sony’s State of Play presentation, it was announced that Silent Hill 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8, 2024.

The Bloober Team provided a separate message with the gameplay footage, explaining the significance of this project for the studio.

The studio mentioned that the shift from fixed cameras to a third-person perspective was a challenge, but it allows players to explore the game world more thoroughly.

Players who pre-order the standard edition of the game will receive Mira the Dog and Robbie the Rabbit masks for their characters.

Additionally, a deluxe edition will be available, featuring a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and a Pyramid Head mask for James made out of a pizza box. It will also grant access to the game two days earlier.
