LGBTQ+ characters from Apex Legends will be featured at the Esports World Cup

Respawn has confirmed that it has no plans to make any changes to Apex Legends for participation in the Esports World Cup and will not remove LGBTQ+ characters. Representatives of the studio shared this in an interview with Kotaku.

“We’re not altering the game – all Legends will be available to play. No content in Apex Legends, including legends and cosmetic items, will be restricted at the EWC event,” said Respawn representatives.

Earlier, there was information online suggesting that LGBTQ+ characters and related content might be prohibited at the Esports World Cup 2024, which will take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
