FPS in CS 2 drops by 6% due to the enabled gameplay recording feature in Steam

Dataminer Thour tested the beta version of the gameplay recording feature in Steam. According to him, this option reduces FPS in Counter-Strike 2 by 6%.

Without the feature enabled, the shooter delivered 372 frames per second. However, when activated, FPS in CS 2 dropped to 350, which is roughly a 6% decrease. Thour noted that the gameplay recording is still beneficial as it allows for saving two hours of gameplay in high resolution.

Recently, Valve added five new maps to Counter-Strike 2, including the legendary Pool Day, which is available in the Arms Race mode. The game also received new graphics settings that can improve performance.
