After experiencing delays, Hyper Light Breaker now has a revised launch timeframe

Following delays, Hyper Light Breaker has now been given a new launch schedule.

After facing two delays, the studio informed IGN that it is now aiming for a Steam Early Access launch for Hyper Light Breaker during this summer.

Heart Machine estimates that the game will remain in Early Access for approximately a year.

Announced in March 2022, the sequel to the 2016 action RPG Hyper Light Drifter transitions from the original’s 2D perspective to a new 3D one.

Explaining the decision to opt for an Early Access release, Heart Machine stated on Steam: “Our game is an open-world, online, rogue-lite with procedurally generated worlds – it offers limitless replayability with numerous combinations. We are essentially creating and defining this subgenre of ‘open-world rogue-lite,’ and we strongly believe that openness and responsiveness to player feedback will be crucial to this ambitious process. The community will play a vital role in helping us balance the experience, refine the designs, and create a better, more optimized, adaptable, and comprehensive game in the end.”

Hyper Light Drifter initially launched on PC and later expanded to PS4 and Xbox One after a few months. It eventually arrived on Nintendo Switch and iOS a few years later.

Console versions of Hyper Light Breaker have not yet been announced.
