“Thank you to over a million players who joined us in Fallout 76 in a single day,” the publishers announced on Tuesday.
“…and nearly five million across all Fallout games in a single day,” they added in a subsequent post on X.
“It’s amazing to see such a large influx of new adventurers in Appalachia and how they were welcomed by our wonderful community!” wrote Jonathan Rush, creative director at Bethesda Games Studios, about Fallout 76. “This is a very exciting moment, and there’s much (much) more to come!”

In many games in the Fallout series, the number of players sharply increased after the release of the Fallout TV show on Amazon on April 10.
The show received positive reviews from both critics and viewers: it scored 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience rating of 88%.
According to entertainment data provider Luminate (via Variety), viewers watched almost 2.5 billion minutes of the show’s eight episodes in the week ending April 18, which amounted to about 5.2 million views.
Last week, Amazon confirmed that the Fallout show is returning for a second season.
In addition to the increase in sales of Fallout games after the show, the number of players will increase due to free gifts.
Prime Gaming, included in the Amazon Prime subscription, offers PC game participants as well as exclusive in-game content every month.
Fallout 76 is currently available to Prime subscribers on both PC and Xbox consoles.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas will also be free for Amazon Prime members for the next six months through the Luna cloud gaming platform.
The main games in the Fallout series are also available through Xbox Game Pass.
