Today, two more games will be added to the N64 app for Switch Online

Today, the N64 app for Switch Online will introduce two new games: Extreme-G and Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls, expanding the N64 game selection on the western service to 32 titles.

Extreme-G is a futuristic racing game with high-speed action, released on the N64 approximately a year before F-Zero X. Players pilot futuristic motorcycles, racing at breakneck speeds on various tracks.

Meanwhile, Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls is a racing platformer featuring 100 levels. In each level, players race to the top of a towering structure, competing against three other characters to reach the end first.

Originally published by Acclaim, both games are now owned by Throwback Entertainment. This suggests the potential for additional Throwback-owned titles to join Switch Online in the future, such as Extreme-G for N64 or Champions World Class Soccer for SNES.

The Expansion Pack tier for Switch Online launched in October 2021 alongside the Nintendo 64 game library. Despite initial emulation issues causing frustration among players, ongoing updates to the service have improved emulation quality and addressed most major issues.

With a standard Switch Online subscription, players gain access to a library of NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games. To enjoy Nintendo 64 games, as well as titles from Mega Drive/Genesis and Game Boy Advance, players must upgrade to the Switch Online Expansion Pack.
