Forza Horizon 4, originally launched in October 2018, will be removed from the Microsoft Store and Steam on December 15, 2024, due to expiring licensing agreements, likely related to car brands and in-game music.
Today, the game’s DLC is being delisted, making the Ultimate Edition the sole option to access expansions like Fortune Island and Lego Speed Champions.
Players who already own the game and DLC can continue to access and play them after delisting. Both offline and online features will remain functional, and physical copies will continue to work normally.
Leading up to its removal, Forza Horizon 4 is currently 80% off on Steam, with the Standard Edition priced at $11.99 / £10.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $19.99 / £16.99. Discounts on the Xbox store will begin from July 14, though specific details are yet to be confirmed.
Following delisting, the game will no longer be available through Xbox Game Pass. However, subscribers who purchased DLC can retain access with a game token provided via the Xbox Message Center, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay.
Forza Horizon 4 is set in a fictionalized open-world rendition of the UK, featuring locales like Edinburgh, the Highlands, the Lake District, Ambleside, and the Cotswolds. It was succeeded by Forza Horizon 5 in 2021, set in a fictionalized version of Mexico.
