Witchfire to receive major free update “Webgrave” on july 28

The Astronauts has announced the largest update yet for its dark fantasy shooter Witchfire. Titled Webgrave, the update will launch on July 28 and will be available for free to all players.

The patch brings a significant expansion of the game world, reworks to progression, crafting, and combat systems. The main highlight is a new location — the Infected City, a gothic zone cursed by witches that unleashed a deadly plague. Fans of Bloodborne will likely appreciate the eerie atmosphere, rich lore, new enemies, artifacts, and secrets.

Character development is getting deeper with the introduction of six new attributes: Flesh, Blood, Mind, Witchcraft, Arsenal, and Faith. The update also adds a new mechanic called “Prayer Beads” — magical items that provide conditional bonuses, reminiscent of Bloodborne’s Caryll Runes.

The revamped Workshop 2.0, inspired by the classic game Syndicate (1993), will offer a step-by-step and intuitive approach to crafting, making equipment creation a more strategic experience.

Among the new weapons are the Oracle rifle, capable of shooting through walls, and a mysterious item called Nemesis, details of which remain under wraps for now.

The Astronauts plans to share more information closer to release. Witchfire is currently available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
