The Game Awards is rumored to feature at least two game announcements that will leave fans stunned

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has shared his thoughts on the upcoming The Game Awards, during an appearance on Kinda Funny Games Daily, hinting at major surprises and early trailers for titles that are still years away from release.

Schreier mentioned previous reveals like Monolith’s Wonder Woman and Star Wars: Eclipse, pointing out that when Wonder Woman was initially announced, it was in its earliest development stages.

“There’s a strong possibility we’ll see one or two teaser trailers for games that won’t launch until 2026 or later,” Schreier speculated.

When asked by host Tim Gettys if fans should anticipate exciting announcements, Schreier responded: “There are at least two moments that will make you think, ‘Holy sh*t, I can’t believe it’s happening.’”

The event will be streamed live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 12, at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET (December 13 at 12:30 AM GMT).

This year, Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth dominate the nominations, leading with seven each, including a nod for Game of the Year. Sony Interactive Entertainment has received the most nominations with 16, followed by Square Enix and Xbox with 12 each, and Sega with 11.

The organizers have promised awards, world premieres, new game announcements, and live music performances by The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by Lorne Balfe.
