Sony has announced the release of its upcoming live service game Concord, which will be available on PS5 and PC on August 23. The game, priced at $40 / £35, will launch with 16 Freegunners, 12 maps, and 6 game modes.
One of Concord‘s standout features is the absence of a battle pass, setting it apart from other games. However, in October, with the first major content update — Season 1: The Tempest — the game will introduce an in-game store. According to Ryan Ellis, game director at Firewalk Studios, this store will allow players to further customize their characters with additional cosmetic items that will have no impact on gameplay.

Season 1 will also add a new Freegunner, a new map, additional character variants, and a series of weekly cinematic vignettes that advance the story. The next update, Season 2, is scheduled for January 2025 and will bring more new content and a new game mode.
Servers for early access to Concord will go live on August 20, three days before the official launch.
