S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s first major story expansion, Cost of Hope, is set to launch this summer

The upcoming story expansion, Cost of Hope, is set to launch this summer for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Developed by GSC Game World, this large-scale, non-linear DLC promises dozens of hours of new content.

Key Highlights for Stalkers:

• Epic Scale: Described as a large-scale, non-linear expansion, the DLC will provide dozens of hours of new gameplay.
• The Conflict: The narrative shifts its focus to the legendary, ongoing war between two rival factions: Duty and Freedom.
• The Return of Skif: Players will once again take control of the main protagonist, Skif, as he experiences new events that unfold alongside the original storyline.
• Seamless Integration: Once installed, the new content is triggered by a PDA signal received during the game. As always, player choices will be vital, with consequences echoing far beyond the borders of the Zone.
• Legendary New Regions: The expansion introduces two massive areas: the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP) and the Iron Forest. Each will feature its own hub, unique quests, activities, and gear.
• A New Trilogy: Cost of Hope is positioned as the middle chapter of a second trilogy following the base game. A final story-driven installment is already planned for the future.
