Recent reports indicate that a new video game based on the DC film The Batman is in development. According to Puck News, the game is being created based on the film directed by Matt Reeves, featuring Robert Pattinson in the lead role.
The report also confirms that AT&T attempted to sell Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for $4 billion in 2020, but it was deemed “too valuable to unload.” After David Zaslav was appointed CEO, he was advised to divest Warner’s gaming division, but Zaslav views it as strategically important.
The report suggests that Warner Bros. Discovery divisions are starting to collaborate more closely on projects related to the The Batman film, such as the upcoming Penguin HBO series and game. A sequel to The Batman is also in development.
Last year, Pattinson’s suit from The Batman was added to Batman Arkham Knight.
The new VR game Batman: Arkham Shadow, announced in May, will be a Meta Quest 3 exclusive and will be the second VR game with the Batman: Arkham name, following Batman: Arkham VR, which launched with the original PlayStation VR headset. The game, set to release in October this year, was showcased during Gamescom Opening Night Live earlier this month.
