Astralis’ star sniper, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, has announced that he will miss the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 for CS2 due to health issues related to stress. In a heartfelt social media post, Reedtz explained his situation and apologized to his fans.
“With deep regret, I must share that I will not be able to participate in the Shanghai Major due to stress-related health problems. It was a difficult decision, but after consulting with my medical team, I realized focusing on my health is the right choice,” he wrote.
Reedtz shared details of his health relapse, which began during a recent trip to Singapore. “The first nights, I struggled to sleep, managing only a few hours. Over the next week, I dealt with insomnia, muscle cramps, rapid heartbeats, and extreme fatigue. Things only got worse.”
He initially hoped to recover after returning home, but he admitted that he’s still not ready for competition. “The hardest part is knowing I’m letting down my team and fans at such a crucial moment in the season. These are the people who fuel my passion for this job, and disappointing them is unbearable.”
Reedtz aims to return at the beginning of the new season next year after taking a needed break for a stable recovery.
Alexander “br0” Bro will substitute for Reedtz at the Major. He had been moved to the reserve after Kasper “cadiaN” Møller joined the team as captain. Møller will likely assume the sniper role in dev1ce’s absence.
