Capcom has increased its full-year profit forecast after successful sales of both new and old games over the 12 months ending on March 31, 2024.
The Japanese publisher, set to report its annual financial results on May 9, had already anticipated record results for the fiscal year in its initial guidance.
Today, it announced that it has raised its forecast for net sales by 8.9% to 152.4 billion yen ($979 million) and increased its forecast for net profit by 8.3% to 43.3 billion ($278 million).
“In our core Digital Contents business, alongside Street Fighter 6, the latest installment in the Street Fighter series, which has been widely acclaimed worldwide, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released in the fourth quarter and performed well,” the company said.
“Additionally, sales increased for catalog titles, primarily consisting of past titles from major series, due to their steady popularity. Overall, this has led us to expect that earnings from this business will exceed our plan.”
Capcom raises full-year profit forecast on better-than-expected game sales. In January, Capcom reported that Street Fighter 6 had sold three million copies. Prior to its release last June, Capcom’s president stated that the company aimed to sell 10 million copies of the game, surpassing the series record of 7.4 million achieved by Street Fighter 5.

Dragon’s Dogma 2, released on March 22, became Capcom’s first $70 game. Just 11 days after its release, the company announced that sales had exceeded 2.5 million copies.
