A recent YouTube comment, supposedly posted by Matthew Karch, head of Saber Interactive, the studio behind Space Marine 2, has raised questions about its authenticity. Insiders are debating whether the comment is actually from Karch, though a LinkedIn post hinted at its legitimacy.
The comment criticizes modern games that, in Karch’s view, “impose morals” on players, emphasizing that Space Marine 2 was designed as a return to “old-school” gaming, focusing on fun and immersion.

Karch expressed that games like Space Marine 2 and Wukong represent a shift back to simpler times, when game projects were less complex and required less time investment.
Earlier in 2024, Embracer sold Saber Interactive for $247 million.
