007 First Light Could Become One of the Best James Bond Games — IO Interactive Reveals First 13 Minutes of Gameplay

007 First Light is only days away from release, and the upcoming spy action title from IO Interactive is already shaping up to be one of the best video game adaptations of the James Bond franchise.

As often happens with major releases, some content creators began sharing gameplay footage and even full playthroughs before the review embargo expired. In response, the developers released an official video featuring the first 13 minutes of gameplay, captured with the day-one patch installed, allowing fans to experience the project exactly as the studio intended.

The opening mission, titled Against the Odds, introduces a 26-year-old James Bond taking part in a British Army operation near the coast of Iceland. After a helicopter crash, Bond discovers a dangerous group of criminals holding high-value hostages. During the mission, MI6 agents contact him, help complete the operation, and, impressed by the young soldier’s abilities, offer him a place within the secret service.

007 First Light combines stealth gameplay, hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and high-speed car chases. The game alternates between linear story-driven sequences and larger open-ended locations where players have greater freedom in how they approach objectives.

007 First Light launches on May 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
