Infinity Ward Confirms New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Game

Infinity Ward has officially confirmed that a new entry in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series is currently in development. In a newly released video, the studio described the project as the “ultimate version of Modern Warfare” and stated that the game will mark “a new chapter” for the franchise.

Following the video’s release, the developers also shared a statement on social media, once again emphasizing that the upcoming title will be a major milestone not only for the series but for Infinity Ward itself.

At the moment, it remains unclear whether the new title will serve as another reboot of Modern Warfare similar to the 2019 release, or if it will continue within the existing universe. However, the studio’s comments strongly suggest that a full reveal of the next Call of Duty is approaching soon.

According to rumors, the next installment could be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, with a reported launch window set for October. Some insiders also claim the game may once again reboot the Modern Warfare storyline.

Infinity Ward’s apparent desire to “start fresh” could be connected to the mixed reception received by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, both of which faced criticism from parts of the community following their releases.
