Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy: "Some players weren't ready for victory at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024"

The coach of Natus Vincere’s CS 2 team, Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy, shared his thoughts on the impact of their unexpected victory at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. He noted that not all players were prepared for such a success.

“For me, this victory turned out to be one of the easiest, although it was unexpected. It wasn’t a planned and confident path to victory where you build a structure and the team moves towards the goal. We just did our best, and the victory came by itself,” B1ad3 said.

He also emphasized that winning a major is a unique experience that can serve as a foundation for the team’s further growth. However, in the coach’s opinion, such a sudden victory can be both a blessing and a challenge for the team: “It’s like you’re just starting your journey, and then suddenly you win, but not all players are ready for such an outcome.”

Gorodenskiy pointed out that despite the victory, the team experienced some emotional swings: “I can analyze what happened because I’ve been through it before, but other players might just say, ‘Blah, blah, blah.’ I can’t exactly know what’s going on in their heads and what they are experiencing. I didn’t expect any internal changes in the players.”

Nevertheless, the coach assured that there were no negative consequences, and the new knowledge and experience will help the team deal with the emotional rollercoaster. “It’s important to stay calm, composed, and continue moving towards our goals,” B1ad3 concluded.
