Valve has resolved the input lag issue that appeared after the release of patch 7.38 in Dota 2. The fix was deployed on February 21, as confirmed by developer Jeff Hill.
Despite the issue being addressed, Hill asked players to submit match IDs if input lag occurs again. He also recommended using a special launch command:
+dota_debug_change_cursor_during_pending_order 1
This parameter makes the cursor brighter with each click until the server processes the command and sends a response to the client. While it doesn’t fix the issue, it helps visually track the delay and understand its cause.
The input lag problem emerged right after the patch 7.38 release. Initially, players attributed it to high ping, but complaints about the issue became widespread within the community. The bug has now been fixed, but Valve continues to monitor the situation.
