Capcom has rolled out a major update for Street Fighter 6, introducing the final Year 2 DLC character — Elena — alongside another round of balance adjustments to keep the fighter roster competitive and fair.
But the update doesn’t stop there. Players will also find a nostalgic surprise in the Game Center section of the in-game Gallery: four fully playable NES classics have been added — Bionic Commando, Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight, Mighty Final Fight, and Mega Man 3.
While Street Fighter 2010 may appear thematically relevant, it’s quite different from the main series — a futuristic action platformer starring a bionic version of Ken (or “Kevin” in the original Japanese version). Mighty Final Fight brings a chibi-styled take on the Final Fight arcade experience, while Mega Man 3 introduces key series staples like Proto Man and Rush. Meanwhile, Bionic Commando offers a grappling hook-based adventure starring Ladd Spencer — though Western audiences saw a censored version of the game’s original enemy faction.
The patch also includes “Edge of Triumph”, a new music track composed by Yoko Shimomura, returning to the Street Fighter series for the first time since she scored Street Fighter II over 30 years ago.
Elena’s arrival also coincides with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which will ship with a version of Street Fighter 6 that includes all Year 1 and Year 2 fighters — though it’s unclear whether the NES games will be part of that edition.
