The first round of the Evelone Duo Cup in CS 2 ended in a crushing defeat for the duo of Alexander “s1mple” Kostyliev and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutsky. They lost to the pair of Oleg “baz” Kulinich and Maxim “kyousuke” Lyukin with a score of 2:13. This result became the most one-sided match at the time of publication.

The match was played on Mirage, a map picked by the players themselves, while other teams chose Dust 2. After the loss, s1mple commented on the game during a stream hosted by the tournament organizer, Vadim “Evelone” Kozakov, mentioning that he had bad luck with timings, while the opponents showed great preparation:
“Yeah… [Maybe Mirage was a mistake?] No, they just outshot us, I would have won such a match too. <…> I *** [lost] so many timing moments, it was just *** [awful].”
— Alexander “s1mple” Kostyliev
The next match for s1mple and Perfecto will be against the duo of rain and broky in a bo3 format. The game will take place after all upper-bracket matches are completed.
You can follow the tournament on Evelone’s stream on Twitch.
