PS5-exclusive Nioh 3 may launch on other platforms as early as August

The Nioh series has historically remained confined to PlayStation and PC platforms, with Team Ninja never expanding the franchise to additional consoles. That pattern could shift with Nioh 3’s upcoming release.

Nioh 3 arrives February 6 for PS5 and PC, though recent information suggests PlayStation console exclusivity won’t last forever. A trailer published on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel contains language indicating the exclusive window has a defined endpoint.

Fine print at the trailer’s conclusion states the title will be “not available on other consoles until at least six months after February 6, 2026.” This wording suggests PS5 console exclusivity could conclude in early August, potentially enabling launches on alternative platforms.

While this doesn’t officially confirm Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch 2 versions, it demonstrates that additional console ports are feasible once the exclusivity period lapses. Should this materialize, it would represent a significant departure for the Nioh franchise, which has maintained strong PlayStation associations despite Team Ninja regularly supporting diverse platforms with other projects.

Despite the six-month exclusivity language, an Xbox version of Nioh 3 remains unconfirmed. Should the game extend beyond PlayStation and PC, Nintendo’s upcoming console could present another release opportunity.
