The developers of Dota 2 have released update 7.37, which aims to “level the playing field” and restore balance. Valve‘s team has reworked many innate abilities and aspects of heroes, as well as nerfed popular characters.
Since update 7.36 affected almost every hero in the game, version 7.37 focuses primarily on balancing. Many heroes have new aspects and innate abilities, Medusa has been significantly changed, and ability descriptions have become more detailed, helping players consider all possible factors in the game.
The patch has significantly impacted the current tournament meta by nerfing popular items like Crimson Guard, Pipe of Insight, and Guardian Greaves. The developers also rotated neutral items, bringing Iron Talon back into the game. It is now a tier 2 item that can remove 80% of a neutral creep’s current health every 20 seconds. Valve also made the system clearer for players, such as now being able to see if an aspect can be disabled with Silver Edge.
Many aspects and innate abilities of heroes have been changed or replaced with new ones. For example, Enchantress now increases the damage of all neutral creeps on the map against enemy heroes. The full list of changes is available on the game’s official website.
