More than half of the players from the HLTV top 20 for 2023 will miss the first CS 2 Major

Over 50% of the HLTV top 20 players for 2023 won't participate in the inaugural CS 2 Major.

Nine players from the top 20 HLTV ranking for 2023 will miss the upcoming PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in CS 2 as they did not qualify through RMR. Among them are four major winners.

List of esports players from the HLTV top ranking who will miss PGL Major Copenhagen:

  1. Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia (6);
  2. Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev (7);
  3. Martin “stavn” Lund (9);
  4. Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz (11);
  5. Jacob “jabbi” Nygaard (15);
  6. Benjamin “blameF” Bremer (16);
  7. Emil “Magisk” Raif (17);
  8. Kasper “cadiaN” Moller (18);
  9. Russell “Twistzz” Van Dalken (20).

Twenty-four teams will participate in the world championship, including NAVI, Virtus.pro, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, and others. The full list of participants is available here.

PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 is scheduled to take place from March 17 to 31 in Denmark. The world’s best teams will compete for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The winner will receive $500,000 and a slot in the BLAST Premier World Final 2024.
