Microsoft has officially announced Forza Horizon 6, the next entry in the hit racing series, set in Japan. The game will release in 2026 on Xbox consoles and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version arriving later.
Although no gameplay footage has been shown yet, Xbox confirmed that the racer will feature both Tokyo’s neon-lit cityscapes and Japan’s rural and mountain regions, aiming to capture the country’s cultural essence in the Horizon style.
The delayed PS5 release comes as a surprise to some fans, especially after recent Microsoft titles like Doom: The Dark Ages and The Outer Worlds 2 committed to day-one cross-platform launches.
Forza Horizon 5, released in 2021, became Xbox’s biggest launch with over 10 million players in its first week, and later found success on PS5 as well. Expectations for the Japanese setting of Forza Horizon 6 are already high.
