Jabbz on 9Class: “He’s at the far end of the creativity spectrum”

Team Liquid coach Mathis “Jabbz” Friesel shared his thoughts on PARIVISION support Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan, praising him as a uniquely creative Dota 2 player whose playstyle is nearly impossible to replicate.

“I’m a big fan of crazy ideas. For example, during PGL Wallachia Season 3, I was in charge of most of the drafts, and we decided to pick Void as position four. At first, everyone thought we were insane—but it worked, and others started playing like that.

Obviously, 9Class is a unique player. His style is hard to copy—he’s at the far end of the creativity spectrum. I think reaching that level only happens when it comes from the player himself—their willingness to try new things and play crazy strategies. I’m always open to encouraging that, even if it’s sometimes hard to convince them.”

Jabbz also noted that some of Team Liquid’s players share this experimental mindset:

“tOfu loves to try new stuff. Ace also said he enjoys playing unusual heroes. We’ve already experimented with Mars as a position five and Mirana support, and I’m sure we’ll keep trying new things. The main thing is not to go completely off the rails.”

During The International 2025, 9Class impressed fans with his performance. His signature heroes were Alchemist and Slark, while his Monkey King support went undefeated in six matches. PARIVISION finished third at the world championship.
