Hollow Knight: Silksong finally revealed — release date is closer than expected

After six years of waiting, Team Cherry has finally showcased Hollow Knight: Silksong during its own presentation, and the news surprised fans — the game launches on September 4 for PC and consoles.

The title was announced six years ago, but since then there’s been almost no updates or trailers. Now, the developers have shared fresh details. The main character is Hornet, well-known to fans, who now gets her own story. The events take place in a new kingdom in decline. The trailer revealed several intriguing details, including a shot of Hornet swimming across the water — suggesting that Silksong will allow swimming, a feature absent in the original Hollow Knight.

While preserving the core of the first game, Silksong introduces new mechanics: instead of magic, Hornet uses tools and traps, and restores health with silk. The game will feature over 165 enemy types, 40 new bosses, and various NPCs with their own quests.
