The Project Arroyo team has unveiled a trailer showcasing the visuals of the upcoming Fallout 2 remake built on the Fallout 4 engine. The video highlighted various locations, including Arroyo, the Temple of Trials, Klamath, Modoc, Toxic Caves, and the Golgotha Cemetery, all of which are classic places from the original game. The trailer also featured classic enemies like geckos, previously seen in Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.
In the project’s official Discord channel, collaboration with a team of fans working on a remake of the first Fallout on the Fallout 4 engine, titled Fallout: Vault 13, was announced. Both teams expect that this collaboration will expedite the development process for both projects and are currently seeking volunteers willing to support the remake’s creation.
Project Arroyo is not the sole team porting classic games into 3D. Other projects include Fallout: The Story, a closed initiative aimed at transferring the first Fallout to the Fallout: New Vegas engine (demo available for download), Fallout: Vault 13, a Fallout 2 remake on the Fallout: New Vegas engine by the Molten Clouds team, in development since 2013, and a project transforming Fallout 2 into a game resembling classic The Elder Scrolls titles, created by Jonas Osmenda from Poland, which is already available for play.
