Team Spirit player Danil “donk” Kryshkovets commented on their victory at IEM Katowice 2024 in CS 2. He noted that nervousness was only felt before the match during the team presentation.
“How did I feel at the stadium? Well, normal. At the beginning during the presentation, I was nervous. Before the match, there’s anxiety: you sit, wait, some thoughts come to your mind. You start thinking about it, and some nervousness kicks in,” mentioned Kryshkovets.
When asked about the moment he realized they would win the tournament, donk replied, “At a score of 12:3 on Overpass when rain [ropz] was left 1 in 4.”
Donk also shared his plans for the prize money: “What will you do with the money? I will give it all to my parents.”
In the grand final, Team Spirit defeated FaZe Clan with a score of 3:0. Kryshkovets received the Most Valuable Player award and became the youngest winner of IEM Katowice. The team earned $400,000 for securing the first-place position.
