Disney Illusion Island Coming to PlayStation on May 30

Disney Illusion Island, the colorful platformer starring Mickey Mouse and friends, is officially headed to PlayStation consoles, with a release date set for May 30. The game’s PlayStation Network page was spotted early by PSDeals, suggesting an official announcement is imminent.

Originally launched on July 28, 2023, as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Disney Illusion Island was developed by Dlala Studios, known for their work on Battletoads and Overruled!. The game takes players on a whimsical adventure through the island of Monoth, as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy work together to recover three mystical books and save the world from catastrophe.

The PlayStation version will include the base game along with additional content: Keeper Up, Mystery in Monoth, and the latest update C.A.S.H., which introduces Scrooge McDuck as a new character.

While praised for its charming visuals and accessible gameplay, reviews noted that the game doesn’t significantly push the Metroidvania genre forward. Still, it’s been recognized as a solid, family-friendly title with plenty of Disney magic.

There’s no word yet on whether Xbox Series X|S players can expect a release, but further announcements may follow soon.
