Call of Duty Black Ops 7’s single-player mode can’t be paused and must remain connected to the internet at all times

As if that wasn’t bad enough, missions have no checkpoints – if you don’t finish in one sitting, anything that you unlocked or progressed is lost. Plus, you’d better have a good internet connection to play the campaign since the game won’t allow any online disconnects. If you do disconnect online, your progress is wiped on whichever mission you played.

Activision states Black Ops 7 allows either you to go solo, or allow up to three people to join in on a new co-op driven campaign made by Treyarch and Raven Software designed to expand the Black Ops universe.

The idea was to create a title that could stand alone, yet still reference titles in the legacy of the Black Ops universe, all in a plot that included the previous characters and plots, while in a near-future timeline.
