A new video featuring a 9-minute in-depth look at the Shattered Space expansion for Starfield has been released

Bethesda has released a new 9-minute video detailing the first expansion for Starfield — Shattered Space, in which, according to lead creative producer Tim Lamb, players get “the first look at the mysterious homeworld of House Va’Ruun.”

The Shattered Space expansion will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PC users on September 30. It is included in the Premium and Constellation editions of Starfield, but can also be purchased separately for $29.99 / £29.99.

According to the DLC’s storyline, a mysterious power is awakening in the city of Dazra on the hidden homeworld of House Va’Ruun. Players will explore a new planet, face a cosmic threat, and find unique weapons, spacesuits, and other gear.

The events unfold after receiving a distress signal from an abandoned space station, leading to a journey to Va’Ruun’kai. Players will delve into the secrets of House Va’Ruun, learn about the history of its people, and uncover details about their worship of a deity called “The Great Serpent”. They will have to make key decisions that will impact the fate of the faction after a catastrophic event.

Todd Howard, the game director for Starfield, noted that in terms of scope, Shattered Space is comparable to the well-known Far Harbor DLC from Fallout 4.
