WWE 2K25 will officially arrive on Switch 2 on July 23, launching in three editions that mirror the options available on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
Notably, the Switch 2 version will include The Island, an open-world mode previously exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This indicates the game will match the current-gen versions in terms of features and performance, distinguishing it from the scaled-down PS4 and Xbox One editions.
All the major game modes will be present, including:
- 2K Showcase (focused on The Bloodline)
- MyFaction
- MyRise
- Universe Mode
- Creation Suite
- MyGM
An online connection will be required to access bonus content and features such as DLC, The Island, and MyFaction. However, other modes will remain fully playable offline, which is ideal for users on the go.
Three Editions:
- Standard Edition – Pre-orders unlock the Wyatt Sicks Pack, adding five playable Superstars.
- Deadman Edition – Includes the Deadman Bonus Pack, featuring:
- Mattel Elite “Greatest Hits” Undertaker
- Original ‘90 Undertaker persona
- Useable Urn object
- Undertaker ‘95 Mask for The Island
- Brother Love as manager
- Bloodline Edition – Offers all previous content, plus:
- Rock Nation of Domination persona & Superstar
- Bloodline Bonus Pack
- WrestleMania 41 Pack
- Season Pass (five waves of DLC)
This release marks WWE 2K’s return to Nintendo consoles, following WWE 2K18 and Battlegrounds on Switch — both of which were widely criticized for poor performance. In particular, 2K18 received a Metacritic score of 35 due to bugs and sluggish gameplay.
2K is aiming to restore faith in the series on Nintendo platforms by leveraging the enhanced capabilities of Switch 2, hoping to deliver a smoother, feature-complete experience on par with other modern systems.
