Nintendo has unexpectedly announced the release date for the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie—set to premiere in 2027. The information surfaced in the company’s new mobile app, and according to insiders, this could be the first installment in a planned trilogy.
The project will be a live-action adaptation of the iconic franchise, directed by Wes Ball (known for The Maze Runner trilogy). Sony Pictures is co-producing the film alongside Nintendo.
While details remain scarce, if the trilogy rumors are true, this could become Nintendo’s most ambitious film project to date.
