Epic Games Store is giving away The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria for free until December 19 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT. Confirming earlier leaks, Epic announced that this is the first of 16 free games it plans to offer during the holiday season. After this title, a new mystery game will be available every day for the next 15 days.
This giveaway coincides with Epic’s Holiday Sale, which runs until January 9, offering significant discounts across a wide range of titles.
Meanwhile, GOG is offering The Whispered World: Special Edition for free until December 15 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT. To claim the game, players must opt in to receive marketing emails from GOG.
GOG’s Winter Sale, running until January 3, features over 6,500 discounts of up to 90%. Last year, GOG offered five free games during its Winter Sale.
In addition, GOG recently introduced its Preservation Program, aimed at ensuring classic games remain playable on modern systems indefinitely.
