The first post-release patch for Stalker 2 is set to arrive “within the coming week”

GSC Game World has announced that the first post-release patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will roll out “during the week to come” for both PC and Xbox platforms.

According to the patch notes, the update will address a variety of issues, including:

  • Fixes for crashes and memory allocation errors causing unexpected exits.
  • Adjustments to gameplay and balance, including weapon upgrade pricing and NPC behavior tweaks.
  • Resolutions for softlocks, quest progression bugs, stuck NPCs, incorrect quest markers, and cutscene issues.
  • Improvements to visuals and the user interface.

GSC stated, “We are committed to continuously improving your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl experience. We deeply appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement.”

The full patch notes are available on the game’s Steam page.

The release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 followed a challenging development cycle, with the studio partially relocating from Kyiv to the Czech Republic due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Despite the hurdles, the post-apocalyptic shooter debuted recently on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Game Pass, with GSC acknowledging the game’s “rough edges” and pledging ongoing updates.
