Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on Steam to “mixed” reviews, gathering over 2,000 comments, many of which criticize the game’s technical issues. Players are reporting an unstable multiplayer experience, frequent crashes, and problems with the Call of Duty launcher, making the game difficult to access. One player noted that they were unable to complete a single match due to persistent crashes.
Another source of frustration is the integration of Black Ops 6 with CoD HQ, which combines its playtime with Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. This complicates refunds on Steam due to the two-hour playtime limit.
Many players are also dissatisfied with the mandatory internet connection required to play the campaign, meaning server issues can affect gameplay. Users have reported frequent disconnections even in single-player mode, as well as dissatisfaction with the Zombies mode, which some feel is underdeveloped.
Some fans express concerns that Activision may release classic maps as paid DLC in the future.
Despite the criticism, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on October 25 and quickly became one of the top-selling games on Steam, maintaining this position as of October 28.
