According to Christopher Dring from GamesIndustry.biz, the game Astro Bot, released on September 6, sold more physical copies in the UK in just two days than Concord did worldwide. Dring noted that while Astro Bot’s sales in the UK are not particularly impressive, they still surpass Concord’s results, which only sold 25,000 copies since its release on August 23.
In a post on X, Dring mentioned that the first week of sales for Astro Bot was about a third lower compared to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from 2021, but long-term sales are expected to be strong. He also pointed out that digital sales constitute the majority of Sony’s overall game sales.
Concord was pulled from sale two weeks after its release, and Sony has offered full refunds to players who bought the game for PS5 and PC. The game, developed by Firewalk Studios, which was founded in 2018 and acquired by Sony last year, received “mixed or average” reviews from critics according to Metacritic, and had only 34 players in-game on Steam at the time of publication.
