In a new video titled “Really, again?”, developer GSC Game World announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will now launch on November 20 instead of the previously planned September 5.
“We understand you might be weary of waiting, and we genuinely appreciate your patience,” the developer stated. “The additional two months will allow us to address more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them).”
The studio assured that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is shaping up to be everything they envisioned and expressed excitement about sharing more details soon. As part of this, they will release a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Developer Deep Dive video on August 12 through Xbox media channels. This update will feature exclusive interviews, new footage, and a full video walkthrough of one of the game’s quests.
The exact release schedule for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has faced uncertainty since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Originally based in Kiev, GSC Game World has since partially relocated to the Czech Republic.
The game will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will also be offered on Game Pass from day one.
