According to information from the Twitter account of MohPlay Inc, 2K Games is developing a new football simulator under the FIFA brand. This became possible, presumably, after FIFA reached an agreement with new game developers.
It is expected that the first game from 2K Games will be released either at the beginning of next year or before the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada, and the USA.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino previously mentioned the development of a new game but did not specify which company would create it.
“We are working with new partners and a new game. Get ready!” he said.
2K Games has significant experience in creating sports simulators, including the popular basketball simulator NBA 2K. Previously, the rights to use the FIFA name for their football simulator belonged to EA SPORTS. However, last year they failed to agree on an extension of these rights and renamed their game to EAFC.
