Games come alive, and the fun never ends!

The developers of Helldivers 2 announce that updates may be released less frequently in the future

Since its release in February, the game has been receiving regular updates from its studio Arrowhead, but the frequency of these updates may decrease in the future.

According to PC Gamer, community manager Thomas Petersson, known on the game’s Discord server as Twinbeard, informed a user that the next update will be released “when it’s ready,” noting that the rate at which updates have been released could potentially impact the game’s quality.

“We want to dedicate more time to this, and possibly, between future patches, because we feel that the pace has probably been too high to maintain the quality standard that we desire and that you deserve,” Petersson explained.

“Frequent updates can easily disrupt workflow and require more resources than you might think. It involves planning, implementation, monitoring, possible adjustments in fixes, and so on. This time, we prefer to stretch out the process a bit, hoping for a good result.”

Petersson later emphasized that Arrowhead is considering reducing the frequency of updates, as it could be beneficial for all parties involved.

“I would say it’s something we need to try and evaluate,” he added. “We believe that a slightly slower pace overall will be beneficial for us, you, and the game.”

Last week, Sony announced that Helldivers 2 is now the fastest-selling game release for PlayStation in history, with salesfar exceeding expectations” at 12 million copies on PC and PS5 in the first 12 weeks.

These sales mean that the live service game has surpassed the performance of God of War Ragnarok, which sold 11 million copies in 10 weeks last year, as stated in the announcement.
