Xbox ROG Ally handheld announced, launching this october

Microsoft and Asus have officially unveiled the Xbox ROG Ally, a new handheld gaming device announced during the Xbox Game Showcase at Summer Game Fest. The system features Xbox branding, a custom operating system, and support for Windows-based games across platforms like Steam, Xbox for PC, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect, and GoG.

Two models will be available: the Xbox ROG Ally X (premium) and a standard version. According to known insider EXtra1s, pre-orders are expected to start in August, with European pricing set at €899 for the X model and €599 for the base version. The global launch is reportedly scheduled for October, though an exact date is yet to be confirmed.

At launch, the device will be available in over 30 countries, including the US, UK, Japan, Germany, and Australia, with more regions to follow.

The announcement follows earlier comments from Microsoft’s Jason Ronald, who stated that future handhelds would combine “the best of Xbox and Windows” as part of Microsoft’s broader push into portable gaming.
