Valve has revised the regulations for tier-1 Counter-Strike 2 tournaments, increasing the minimum number of invited teams from 16 to 20.
The updated rules indicate that the developers aim to host more events with 24 participating teams. Additionally, organizers are now prohibited from inviting Wild Card teams ranked higher than 12th place.
The first major tournament to follow these new rules will be BLAST Rivals Spring 2025.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Valve has changed tournament regulations. In January, the company already introduced adjustments, allowing organizers to deviate from standard requirements in certain cases.
