Microsoft has officially announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta version) for Game Pass Ultimate users starting from its release date, October 25. This marks the first time a game from the Call of Duty series will launch on Xbox Cloud Gaming on the same day as its official release.
In addition to Black Ops 6, two more titles, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone, will also be added to the cloud gaming service later this month.
Uncertain Journey to Xbox Cloud Gaming
Interestingly, after Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the rights to cloud gaming for Activision’s titles were handed over to Ubisoft, raising doubts about whether Black Ops 6 would make its way to Xbox Cloud Gaming. At the same time, other Activision games, such as Diablo 4, are still not available on the platform.
Multiple Ways to Play
Players who wish to access cloud versions of Call of Duty can do so across a range of devices, including consoles, PCs, mobile devices, Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire TV, and Meta Quest.
“This opens up even more ways to play Black Ops 6 right from day one,” wrote Ashley McKissick, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Gaming Experiences and Platforms, in a blog post.
