Shareholders of GameSquare, the parent company of Complexity, have approved the merger plan with FaZe Clan, as reported in the investor report.
The deal is expected to be completed soon. According to Bloomberg, GameSquare will acquire FaZe Clan for $17 million, although the financial details have not been officially disclosed.
After the merger of FaZe Clan with GameSquare, a potential conflict of interest may arise, as the company will have two CS 2 teams, which contradicts Valve and ESL rules. It is likely that one of the teams will need to be disbanded. The tournament operator has already stated that it will closely monitor the consequences of this deal.
Earlier, the media reported that Complexity CEO Jason Lake intended to buy out Complexity from GameSquare. However, it is unclear whether the parties have reached any agreement.
