TeamLFG joins PlayStation Studios, working on social team-based action game

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially welcomed TeamLFG into the PlayStation Studios family. According to Hermen Hulst, head of SIE’s Studio Business Group, the team “originated at Bungie” and has united talent from across the industry for an ambitious new project.

“TeamLFG is now fully formed and ready to be introduced to the world,” said Hulst.

Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, the studio operates with a hybrid model, combining on-site staff with remote developers across the US and Canada. The team features a blend of industry veterans — with credits on Destiny, Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, Roblox, and Rec Room — and newcomers.

The name TeamLFG stands for Team Looking For Group, a nod to the studio’s focus on social gameplay and player connection. In an official statement, the team said their mission is to create action games where players can form friendships, build communities, and relive legendary in-game moments.

“We want players to feel excited to log in and see their teammates already hanging out. To make memes, myths, and memories together. That’s the good stuff,” the team stated.

TeamLFG’s debut game is described as a team-based action title drawing inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and even frog-type games. The studio plans to embrace a community-first approach, with early access playtests and a focus on player feedback throughout development and live service.
