FaZe Clan stand-in Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has outlined the team’s objectives for the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 in CS2. While the ultimate ambition is to claim the championship title, the team is currently focused on reaching the playoffs step by step.
“It feels great to be at a Major again and see so many people,” s1mple said in a pre-tournament interview. “You can really tell this is a Major, not just any other event.”
When asked if he missed playing at Majors, s1mple recalled his last appearance at Shanghai, saying it didn’t go well but he still cherishes the experience:
“I miss playing on stage. Performing in front of fans is the best feeling. When I joined [FaZe], karrigan told me, ‘We’re going to win the Major.’ That’s the goal — to win. But first, we need to reach the third stage, then the playoffs.”
s1mple joined FaZe Clan on loan from NAVI on May 5, stepping in for Helvijs “broky” Smits at both IEM Dallas 2025 and the Austin Major. FaZe will begin their Major journey from the second stage of the tournament.
