GSC Game World has rolled out patch 1.4.1 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, aimed at fixing critical issues related to mod support. The update is already available on PC and Xbox, and will soon arrive on the Epic Games Store.
The developers listed just two key changes:
- Fixed a crash when launching the game with the Simple Mod Loader installed
- Fixed a crash when loading save files in games with mods like UETools
This is a follow-up to the recent 1.4 patch, which introduced over 700 improvements and fixes, including major updates to the story, combat system, and AI. Among the most notable changes: mutants now feed on corpses, NPCs behave more realistically in combat, and stalkers kick the player when they’re down.
A few story-related bugs were also resolved:
- Scar no longer ignores the visiograph in the “Images of the Absolute Truth” mission
- The shortcut to Pripyat via the train tank in Yanov has been removed
Meanwhile, GSC is working on official mod support for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, with a Mod SDK beta expected in Q2 2025. On top of that, the studio is preparing to launch the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone remastered trilogy for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 — coming May 20, and yes, it will support mods too.
