Insiders claim that update 1.6 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will introduce several notable additions.
The highlight could be a new story quest featuring a familiar character from previous entries in the series. This means not only fresh content but also a dose of fan service with a nostalgic touch. The exact character remains undisclosed, and GSC has yet to confirm the rumor.
Another long-awaited feature is the introduction of night vision goggles, which the developers had previously mentioned in their roadmap. Making their debut in the series, they’re expected to significantly affect gameplay: exploration in darkness will become easier, while firefights will feel more dynamic. Players can also look forward to new weapon modifications, including the Kora 1911 Extended Mag, an expanded magazine for the pistol that broadens customization options.
It’s worth noting that insider information should be taken with caution. However, GSC’s roadmap for the second half of 2025 did mention both night vision and new missions. This suggests that at least two of these features are likely real, though whether they will appear specifically in Patch 1.6 remains uncertain.
