Team Vitality rifler Robin “ropz” Kool shared his thoughts on the future of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev in professional CS2. According to him, the legendary AWPer still has the potential to return to top form.
“Will s1mple return to his prime? It’s hard to say. He admitted himself that he didn’t perform his best in the playoffs — and that’s the first step. I still think he can improve. s1mple is on the right path. During the Major group stage, people saw a glimpse of what he’s capable of. What he really needs is the right team. Maybe it’ll be FaZe Clan, or someone else,” ropz said.
For reference, FaZe Clan finished 5th–8th at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 with s1mple on the roster, earning $45,000 in prize money. It was Kostyliev’s first Major appearance since 2023.
